Datum

Install Datum for Rhino

Datum requires Rhino 8.21 or newer on macOS or Windows. Installation is currently available only to invited private-beta testers who have received a build directly.

No public Datum package has been published. Do not download a build from an unofficial link. Use only the beta package and invitation instructions provided directly to you.

macOS

  1. Quit Rhino before replacing an earlier Datum beta build.
  2. Open the provided Datum.Rhino.rhp plug-in with Rhino and accept Rhino’s install prompt.
  3. If dragging the file into the modeling viewport shows Open, Import, or Insert, cancel that dialog. The viewport is treating the plug-in as a model file rather than installing it.
  4. Restart Rhino, run the Datum command, and confirm that the Datum panel opens.

Windows

  1. Quit Rhino before replacing an earlier Datum beta build.
  2. In Rhino, open Options, choose Plug-ins, then choose Install and select the provided Datum.Rhino.rhp file.
  3. Restart Rhino, run the Datum command, and confirm that the Datum tab opens in the side panel.
  4. Open Options → Plug-ins and select Datum.Rhino to confirm the installed version.
  1. Open Rhino Plug-in Manager and select Datum.Rhino.
  2. Confirm that the plug-in is enabled and record the displayed version.
  3. Run Datum. Running the command again should activate the same panel or tab, not create a duplicate.
